If you are over 50 and would like to join us finding out more about how we can eat healthily and cheaply you are welcome to come along to join two new groups we are setting up in January 2012

We are also looking to recruit new volunteers to support this new venture.

Time Limited Contact Scheme

Wigan & Leigh Pensioners Link offers a “Time Limited Contact Scheme”, which provides low -level  support for a maximum of six weeks for people aged 50 and over who are experiencing changing times.

We help by providing :

  • Home visits
  • Regular telephone contact
  • Information
  • Advocacy
  • Help and support with domestic arrangements
  • Regular shopping
  • Help with arranging transport
  • Help in becoming more involved in social and community activities

Counselling

 

An opportunity will be provided for you to speak about any problems you might be experiencing in a non-judgemental and confidential environment, helping to overcome, for example, Anxiety, Depression, Loss, Relationship Difficulties. Counselling will be on a one-to-one basis with a professional counsellor.

Group work / Therapy - This will also be available depending on need. This will take the form of groups of approximately 10 people and will be aimed at building self worth, confidence, and sharing of experiences.
