About Us
Here at Wigan and Leigh Pensioners Link, we work with the over 50s to help support the over 50s. We can help with any of life's challenges such as finance, friendships, disabilities, feelings, well-being, learning and social activities. We also help people to live a happy, sociable lives and reach their full potential.
We provide a drop-in centre, based on Charles Street in Leigh, with as much emphasis on community and peer support as it has on professional expertise. We have all the necessary information and advice for people to remain independent, with extra support if your circumstances change as a result of illness, bereavement or any other challenges in life.
A lot of our work takes place in the community too - our brilliant team of staff and volunteers travel across the whole Wigan and Leigh borough everyday to offer our services and support.

Meet the team
Kirsty
Manager
Kirsty, who has been part of Pensioners Link since January 2020, has recently been appointed as our new Manager following Paul’s retirement in May 2024.
Kirsty is passionate about helping others and truly enjoys her work at Pensioners Link. Outside of work, she treasures holidays with her family, enjoys socialising with friends, and values family life greatly.
Gail
Service Coordinator
Gail who has been one of our Service Coordinators since the summer of 2022 manages our 'Telephone Contact' and counselling services. Gail also looks after the recruitment and allocation of our large team of volunteers. She has over 17 years’ experience of working in the Voluntary and Community Sector across a wide and diverse number of roles and supporting local communities.
Carol
Service Coordinator
Carol has been with Pensioners Link since the summer of 2022. Carol is service coordinator for our 'Books & More', 'Time Limited Contact' and 'Helping Hands' services. Carol has over 35 years’ experience of customer service and providing financial advice in the Banking Sector and she particularly enjoys helping the over 50s in our local community across the Wigan Borough.
Paul
Support Worker
Paul works as one our Support Workers helping to deliver our community services while
working closely with our coordinators, Gail, Carol and Emma. Paul likes shopping and sports
and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Philippa
Support Worker
Philippa works as one of our Support Workers, helping to deliver our community services across the Wigan and Leigh borough. Philippa enjoys watching woman's football, tennis, enjoys gardening, walking her two dogs and going on bike rides.
